Membership What is the University of Plymouth Choral Society? The University of Plymouth Choral Society (UoPCS) is one of the largest community choirs in Plymouth. It has a long affiliation with University of Plymouth through support from Peninsular Arts, rehearsing on the main site of the University of Plymouth campus in the Sherwell Centre, North Hill, and through providing support in the University’s carol concert
Who sings in the choir? Members are from the community in and around Plymouth, including students and staff from the University of Plymouth. Membership is free to students.
What do we do? We give three performances per year of mainly a classical repertoire, accompanied by an orchestra and professional soloists. Each concert is performed in the Minster Church of St Andrew in the centre of Plymouth.
When do we rehearse? We rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Sherwell Centre from September to May.
Membership is for the academic year and is free to students with a student card and to those still at school. Everyone else pays a subscription.
The subscription for 2018 - 2019 is £120 or 2 instalments of £60, the second instalment is due January 2019. Members joining after the Christmas concert pay £90
The Voice Reps will collect subs as usual at thefirst rehearsal for those wanting to pay by cash or cheque.
